Chantal Martineau is a journalist and author with more than 20 years’ experience writing for newspapers and magazines, including Vogue, The Atlantic, Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, Saveur, The Guardian, the Washington Post, The Globe and Mail, Forbes and more. 

Her 2015 book How the Gringos Stole Tequila, a social history of Mexico’s agave spirits and their global appropriation as luxury goods, was adapted into a documentary film that premiered at South x Southwest in 2018. She is also the co-author of Finding Mezcal (2018), and her poetry has appeared in Understorey Magazine. Chantal lives in the Hudson Valley with her partner and two daughters.
